About Me

I truly love the work that I do and take great joy in journeying alongside my clients through difficult seasons. My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and multi-cultural. Although I’m trained in specific interventions, the most important strength I can offer you as a therapist is my warm, non-judgmental stance, and genuine care for my clients. I believe in the importance in finding the right fit for a therapist, and in building that relationship into a safe place where the hard stuff can be explored and worked through.

I’m trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy), Somatic Experiencing, and DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy), and frequently integrate somatic approaches, mindfulness, and parts work (ego state interventions) into my practice. I believe that the body is so much more effective in giving us information that is so pertinent to our healing, if only we’d stop and listen to it. I maintain a deep commitment to on-going education with a keen interest in neuroplasticity, attachment, complex PTSD, and resilience. My BIPOC identity and experiences have shaped me into a therapist who is passionate about the areas of racial trauma, intersectionality, and social justice.

As a first generation Filipino BIPOC therapist, clients have often sought my support as I have a deep understanding of immigrant family dynamics and the complexities of holding a bi-cultural identity. I have both lived experience and academic experience studying racism and specialize in helping clients who have endured race-related traumatic experiences ranging from racial micro-aggressions to race-based post-traumatic stress.

My particular areas of interest include the following: anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD/complex PTSD, self-worth, boundaries, codependency, stress / burn-out, perfectionism / relentless need for high achievement, racial trauma, race-based stress, navigating bi-cultural identity, intergenerational trauma, Christian counselling, anger management, chronic illness, and domestic abuse.

When I’m not in the counselling room, you can find me spending time with my beautiful family (busy mom of 2!), participating in community, and reading too many books at once.
